Watney, Na 1-up on field in Las Vegas

Photo - Nick Watney LAS VEGAS – Nick Watney birdied five of the last six holes he played on Saturday to sho0t 64. At 17 under par he shares the third-round lead in Las Vegas with Kevin Na. Watney is looking for his third win of the season, while Na is seeking the first of his career.

“Well, as far as tomorrow goes, I'm just going to try and keep doing the same thing, give myself a lot of chances, hopefully roll some in,” Watney said. “And a third win, you know, that would be -- it would be really, really nice, but it's a long way off, so I'm not trying to think about that too much.”

Na is going to try not to think about it too much, too. He has had opportunities, but has yet to get over the top and win an event.

His good friend, Y.E. Yang, who includes a major win at the PGA Championship on his resume, has tried to get Na to understand that winning happens. That will be the biggest obstacle to Na succeeding – letting it happen rather than trying to make it happen.

Robert Garrigus and Kris Blanks are tied for third at 16 under, Tommy Gainey, Paul Goydos and Tim Herron share fifth at minus-15 and Spencer Levin, Jhonattan Vegas, Roland Thatcher and Carl Pettersson round out the top ten, all trailing by three.
