Kirk sneaks into lead at Shell
HUMBLE, Texas - Chris Kirk rolled in a putt that just barely made it to the hole at No. 9, his final hole of the day, and took the outright lead at the Shell Houston Open after the morning wave finished play. Kirk's birdie got him to 9-under par 135 and bumped defending champion Anthony Kim and '08 champion Johnson Wagner into a tie for second-place. Among a threesome two shots off the pace was Ireland's Padraig Harrington, who followed an opening round 68 with a 69. A complete story will follow the completion of round two.Return to Latest News archives
